Sahan participates with educational institutions across Somaliland and beyond in placing health workers from across all disciplines in a clinical atmosphere for the purposes of education and skill development. We are a partner in the academic health sciences community in both Somaliland and United Kingdom
We offer a variety of enriching Student learning experiences in our various areas of care serving patients with complex and chronic diseases, acute care, chronic mental illness, rehabilitation and recovery needs.
Research
At our research unit in Sahan Mental Hospital, new knowledge of experience is developed and continually applied directly to patient care.
Mental Health research at SAHAN strives to develop and evaluate proven interventions earlier and more effectively in the lives of those we serve. Objectives are to identify and promptly deliver services that enhance the quality of life for persons living with mental illness, evaluate outcomes, identify the gaps and investigate new approaches.
This means, our researchers focus their efforts on the development of new knowledge that can be applied directly to patient care within the hospital.
